Check out Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you decide.
Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key context. Everything listed below releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.
MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards
Before diving into all the various special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures into the battlefield when an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (Sneak is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.
“If we ever go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that plane is it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior game designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”
That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.
Additionally, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers say they were careful to ensure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I headed the design for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets would be near it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype built around artifact cards.
“They mesh together to offer the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he says.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look for yourself:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on demand. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new TMNT art. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings on a pizza. There are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
