Chopper Spirals Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented California Coast
An aircraft hovering above a crowded California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, eventually dropping height and smashing into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared on social media capture the chopper starting to spin above Huntington Beach then descending near the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.
First Aid Update
Emergency responders said five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.

The department indicated the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion planned for the following day.
